Here When You Need Us
At Victim Services of Hastings, Prince Edward, and Lennox & Addington, we provide immediate, compassionate support to anyone affected by crime or sudden tragedy.
Life can change in an instant, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. Our trained staff and volunteers are here to listen, help you feel safe, and guide you through the next steps. We offer emotional support, practical assistance, and information and referrals tailored to your needs.

ON SCENE SUPPORT
Our trained staff respond immediately to the scene of a crime or tragic event to provide emotional support, explain victims’ rights and options, assist with urgent needs, and connect individuals with community resources. We help ensure safety, offer practical assistance, and guide victims through the first steps in navigating the aftermath of trauma.

VICTIM QUICK RESPONSE PROGRAM+ (VQRP+)
The VQRP+ provides short-term financial support to help victims of violent crime recover from the impact of an incident. This support can cover urgent needs and essential expenses, such as counselling, emergency home repairs, transportation to safe accommodations, and basic necessities. Eligibility depends on the type of crime, and strict timelines apply. Contact Victim Services to see if you qualify. The VQRP+ is a Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services program, delivered locally by Victim Services.

MOBILE TRACKING SYSTEMS
The MTS Program, funded through grants and donations, helps high-risk victims of gender-based violence stay safe by providing a GPS panic device that alerts police immediately when 911 is not accessible. Delivered in partnership with EYEZ-ON, the program ensures rapid response in emergencies.

BAIL NOTIFICATION
Victims in Quinte West are quickly notified of any changes to an offender’s custody or bail status through the Bail Notification Program. This helps Victim Services provide support, guidance, and resources so victims can make informed decisions about their safety.

Community Resources
Sometimes additional support can make a meaningful difference.
We work closely with trusted community partners and organizations that offer a wide range of services, including counselling, housing support, legal assistance, and crisis care.

If your needs extend beyond the services we provide, these resources can help connect you with the right support in your community.
Emergency & Victim Support
If you or someone else is in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, always call 911 first. Emergency responders will assess the situation and provide the necessary immediate assistance.

Victim Services HPELA works alongside police, fire services, and other first responders to support victims once emergency services are on scene or when a referral is made. Our team provides compassionate crisis support, practical assistance, safety planning, and connections to community resources for individuals affected by crime or sudden tragedy.
